Marija Đekić was born on April 25, 1990 in Kraljevo. She finished primary and secondary school of economics in Kraljevo with great success. After graduating from high school, in 2009 she enrolled at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade. She completed her basic academic studies at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in 2013 with an average grade of 9.4, and graduated with the highest grade on the topic "The role of forensic accounting in detecting financial fraud" in the field of Management. After completing her academic studies, she enrolled in master studies at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Department of Management and Organization, ie the module Project and Investment Management. She graduated from the master's studies in 2014 with the highest grade on the topic "Evaluation of investment projects in the utility industry", with an average grade of 9.6. That same year, she enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Applied Management, Economics and Finance (University of Business Academy in Novi Sad). She defended her doctoral dissertation in 2019 on the topic "Role, importance and perspectives of alternative sources of financing in the development of small business", with the highest grade. She completed her doctoral studies with an average grade of 10.0. In addition to formal education, she was a participant, but also a member of the organizational teams of a large number of conferences, participated in various educational forums and academies, in educational and innovative competitions, and was a member of project teams in several different projects. She has published scientific and professional papers in conference proceedings, scientific journals and monographs.
